COM 101 Blogger - Fall 2010 Wade Clevenger

So far my first semester in college is going pretty good. I need to learn how to take more time out of the day to study and do my school work. As right now i know i can do better on my grades i just need to start taking more notes and paying attention more in class when the teacher is talking. I have also joined a flag football team that makes me get out and have some fun and just stop thinking about school for a couple hours. By living on campus I have got to meet a lot of new people and made a lot of new friends.

COM 101 Blogger - Fall 2010: Interview With Professor Klein

COM 101 Blogger - Fall 2010: Interview With Professor Zucker: "I asked my writing teacher, Professor Zucker what it takes to be a good student at Oakland University and she said that paying attention in class and always do your homework and turn it in on time. She said that she can tell when a student really cares when they really come up to you and ask questions is they don't understand the homework or the writing we are doing each day in class. Zucker said that taking your time outside of class to talk to your professor really makes you stand out because a lot of students don't take time to ask questions after class. Another big step is when she can tell when a student is doing more then just the required work. That really makes that student stand out from the others .

I prefer to work independently. When i can just sit in my room and put some headphones on and just read and get my homework accomplished. I have not had very good luck working in groups because there is a chance of someone messing up everything for you and other group members. But sometimes being in a group can be fun because you meet allot of new people and get to see how they work with other people. The last time I was in a group project was in high school, so I think by everyone being in college and trying to the best they can everyone will do there part better then i have experience over the high school years.

Journal 3-Wade C

Wade C-Journal 3
My self-management is not very good. Sometimes when I have enough time to do homework I just sit there and look at it and finally when i get sick of it i put it away. But most of the time i get everything done on time. I just like to wait till the last minute to do everything and that is not a good thing to get yourself into in college. I excel in not skipping class getting my homework done on time most of the time and couple things I could work on is taken more time out of my day to study. Some strategies to employ to better manage my time is to accomplish my homework before it is due and to sit down for two hours a day and study the materials I really don't know yet so I can be ahead of the game.

COM 101 Blogger - Fall 2010: Response to Journal #2

COM 101 Blogger - Fall 2010: Response to Journal #2: "Ranking the professors advice, 1 being the best and 8 being the worst, I would rate them as follows.
1. Gonzales
2. Fanning
3. Egret
4. Chang
5. Assante
6. Donnelly
7. Buckley
8. Harvey

Well I am more of a visual learner I can’t listen to lectures and get something out of it. I feel bored and just want to fall asleep. I agree with Professors Gonzales and Fanning completely. I believe that in order for the students to learn something they need to get involved in what they are teaching to college students, even a little interaction with the students would help everyone in the class because then you get to know your professor and start having fun learning then just sitting in one spot for a hour.

COM 101 Blogger - Fall 2010: COM 101 Journal #1

My first day of class, i really didn't know what i was getting myself into. Coming from a small town where everyone knew everyone it was going to be way different. But i really enjoyed going into class and meeting everyone that i would be with for the next few months. It really wasn't to awkward because everyone is starting new and going through the same thing you are as a freshman in college. The first week of school went past really fast i really didn't get to much homework and I was thinking to myself man this is going to be a peace of cake. But now we have had a couple full weeks of school the homework is really kicking my butt now. I am trying to get everything done but with all of your homework online its kinda hard to get everything turned in on time because sometimes the Internet is down. I think that over the next couple weeks i need to start getting more organized in all my classes by writing down my homework and when its due. Also i am going to start completing the assignments as i receive them. I love meeting new friends everyday you meet someone new and everyone i have meant has been really nice to me.
